17.12.2021

Those who have been with us for a long time are already well aware of the literary contest “Living Classics”, in which our children invariably participate every year.
“Living Classics” is an international competition for young readers, it originates in Russia. According to the terms of the contest, the participants who are schoolchildren from 10 to 17 years of age must recite prose works by Russian or foreign authors. The contestants are evaluated according to several criteria. It is important not only to read the passage of the work correctly without any mistakes but also to observe the time regulations and convey the necessary intonation, feelings, emotions. In order to perform well, the pupils must feel the work and its atmosphere and experience the action together with its characters. And, of course, acting skills and the ability to convey this atmosphere to the listener, to make him or her plunge into the work and live everything that happens in it.
The competition takes place in several stages, first between schools in the regions, then at the republican level, in Tashkent, and the super final is held in Moscow on Red Square. In Russia, the competition is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications. In Uzbekistan, it is organized with the support of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Uzbekistan (Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation).
Today, the first qualifying round among elementary school students took place in IZB, following which the best contestants were selected. Having visited this competition once, there is a feeling that you have been to the theater. Our pupils are not inferior to actors of a theatre in artistry. With what emotions they tell the works! How carefully the works are selected for each student individually!
The works of different authors and various subjects were read out at the competition. But each of them helped its reader to touch the souls and hearts of the jury. Despite this, not everyone could pass through a fair selection. A total of 13 children were selected from the participants:
