Crystal inkwell 2021

What does the word «Teacher» mean? What idea? This word undoubtedly has great power. And a person who is honored to be called a teacher carries a lot of hard work, a lot of experience and a lot of knowledge. The teacher shares his or her knowledge, he or she shows how you can look at the world in a different way, through the prism of this knowledge, he or she introduces discoveries, something great and sometimes something ordinary but necessary.

Now, from year to year, the value of the teacher’s profession, the teacher’s mission is beginning to acquire the value that should rightfully be. People are beginning to understand how important it is to get the necessary knowledge and how much depends on the teacher. All this goes to the international level. Teachers are provided with the necessary conditions, various incentives are made, and they are also rewarded for decent work. Various competitions and events are held for teachers, and the international competition “Crystal Inkwell” is one of them.

 «Crystal Inkwell» is an international competition of pedagogical skills for teachers of Russian language and literature, which is held every year in Belarus in the city of Minsk by the «Russkiy Mir» («Russian World») Foundation and the International Pedagogical Club with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus. Russian language and Russian culture are very important for this competition, and, accordingly, it is important for the teachers of Russian language. The competition is held in order to spread innovative educational practices and exchange promising experience of teachers in the development of culture-oriented education to continue studying the Russian language and literature and preserve and transmit the cultural heritage of the Russian people. And in general, the competition is important for teachers, as it motivates them to increase their creative self-development and professional growth and increases the social significance of the profession of the teacher of language and Literature.

The competition is held in two stages. The first, qualifying, takes place from spring to autumn and is held in absentia. The second, final, takes place, as a rule, in October. It is held in person in Minsk, with all the participants who who reaches the final, with guests who came to personally attend and cheer for the participants and, of course, with the solemn awarding of the winners. The winners of the contest are awarded diplomas, valuable prizes and the main award “Crystal inkwells” in gold, silver and bronze.

This year, from October 12 to 17, the VIII contest “Crystal Inkwell. F.M. Dostoevsky” was held in Minsk, which was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian writer and his work. The competition was attended by teachers from Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Turkey, Italy and Ukraine. 12 people reached the final. The round table “Dostoevsky and Modernity: eternal Laws of being” and the international conference “Dialogues on Education: Prospects for Cooperation” were held within the framework of the competition. There was also a presentation of the almanac dedicated to the anniversary of Dostoevsky.

The director of the IZB school, Matlyuba Ruvazhiddinovna, was among the guests and the support group of the teacher-contestant representing Uzbekistan. According to the results of the qualifying round, the teacher of Russian language and literature of the Sekhrie NOU (Tashkent) Nigora Kholmukhamedova became the finalist from Uzbekistan and she with dignity became the winner of the contest and the owner of the golden inkwell. In her competitive work, she showed a master class comparing the work of two great writers, F.M.Dostoevsky and A.Navoi.

Also, as part of the competition, an excursion was held for guests and participants to the village of Dostoyevo, in the Brest region, a 4-hour drive from Minsk, where the family estate of F.M. Dostoevsky is located.  A unique museum dedicated to the work of the great writer is located in a local school. There are several halls dedicated to the history of Dostoevsky, his family and creativity.

Such contests as the Crystal Inkwell give an opportunity to be closer to history and culture, they identify talents and give them the opportunity to open up.
