Children about rights and rules

On December 8, 1992, the Constitution of our country was adopted at the eleventh session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This is one of the most important events for Uzbekistan and since then December 8 has been marked as an important state holiday and is celebrated annually throughout the republic.

2 ”B” class (”Inquisitive ones”) together with the class teacher Shafika Shavkatovna invited guests to an open lesson held in honour of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The topic of the lesson was called “Rules in human life”. The Constitution is not a joke! This is the Basic Law of the state and the most important political document containing the rights and obligations of the citizens. But despite the serious topic, Shafika Shavkatovna was able to present it to children in a fully accessible and, most importantly, interesting form for children. The constitutional articles were adapted and presented through fairy tales, so well-known and loved by children. Several articles of the Constitution were selected and analyzed, the pupils showed several fairy tale scenes. Each article is a fairy tale reflecting the meaning of the article. So, for example, with the help of the fairy tale “Doctor Aibolit”, the children were able to display the idea of the article “The right to medical care”, the fairy tale “Kolobok” touched on the topic of the right to life, topics of encroachment and threats to life. And Sergei Mikhalkov’s poem “What do you have?” helped the pupils with the topic of choosing a profession. In addition, the children sang the anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan, recited poems about other symbols of our republic – the flag and the State Emblem. They talked about their rights and responsibilities, talked about the president and about the cities of Uzbekistan. Another interesting solution was to hold class leader elections in the classroom, nominating candidates from each row. The children participated in the real elections, passing through the articles of the Constitution.

All this helped the participants of the lesson to understand and remember the basic constitutional principles and their meaning. It is so important to always remember that each of us is given by right, and never violate each other’s rights. Because the observance of rights and duties is one of the components of a happy state.
